Contribute Your Verse: 12 Weeks of Conscious Creativity
Online Writing Course with Matthew Foley
January 6 - March 31, 2019
12 Weeks of Conscious Creativity is an online course for writers & creatives led by Contribute Your Verse founder Matthew Foley. In this course, we will spend twelve weeks together cultivating daily writing habits, learning how to honor & prioritize our creative selves, and creating a conscious community of writers to support each other’s creative journeys.
The course will run from January 6 through March 31, 2019. During those twelve weeks, we will focus on implementing six principles for a conscious & sustainable writing life:
1. Write Consistently
2. Write Your Truth
3. Be a Student of the Craft
4. Make Writing Your Business
5. Do Your Inner Work
6. Take Care of Yourself
As we work towards cultivating these six practices in our writing lives, each participant will set individualized weekly goals that will help them prioritize their creativity & personal well-being. These weekly goals will be divided into three main categories:
1. Daily Pages (ideally three handwritten pages or 750 typed words per day)
2. Feed Your Creativity (habits that nurture your “inner artist” & spark your creativity)
3. Self-Cafe & Wellness (practices that nourish your body & cultivate emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being)
Each Sunday, we will meet as a community via online video conference to reflect on our creative growth, discuss strategies for meeting our weekly goals, share insights & inspiration, and hold each other accountable to our creative dreams. In addition to these community gatherings, course participants will have the opportunity to meet with me each month for a 60 minute one-on-one coaching session (either in person or by phone). In these personalized sessions, we will review your current writing projects, offer constructive feedback and revision strategies for your work, and work through any struggles or blocks you may be experiencing in your creative journey.
12 Weeks of Conscious Creativity will be offered through Google Classroom and will utilize a variety of Google apps throughout the course: Google Hangouts for video conferences, Google Docs for sharing writing & providing feedback, and Google Sheets for tracking progress on weekly goals. To access these course materials, participants will simply need a Gmail account.
The total cost of participation in 12 Weeks of Conscious Creativity is $500. An initial investment of $125 is due at registration and is non-refundable. The remaining $375 will be divided over three months, with each $125 payment due as follows:
First $125 investment due by January 5th
Second $125 due by February 5th
Third $125 due by March 5th
Final $125 due by April 5th
